Most learners aged 19 and over, studying an eligible Level 3, 4, 5 or 6 qualification (which includes A levels, Access to HE Diplomas, and other Vocational Qualifications) will qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan from the UK government.

If you work in HSC and want to achieve Level 3 or 4 Diploma, GB Training help you apply for an Advanced Learner Loan:
• Apply for an advanced learner loan online
• Only ever pay it back after you earn £25,725 a year
• There is no credit check
• Your household income is not taken into account
• Student Finance England pay the fees to GB Training once attendance
has been confirmed

If you are aged 19-23 and this is your first Level 3 qualification, please contact us, as you may be eligible for the qualification to be fully funded. The average cost of the Level 3 loan would be: £2,275

How Much Can I Get?

The amount you can get depends on your course, the fees charged by your college or training organisation and the maximum amount set by the UK government.

How is my Advanced Learner Loan paid?

Student Finance England will pay your fees to your college or training organisation once they’ve confirmed your attendance on the course. Repayment is straightforward. You’ll begin making repayments once you’ve completed or left your course and your income is over £25,725 a year. Your annual repayment will be 9% of any income you earn over £25,725. For example: Your monthly repayments will be:
• £9 a month if you earned £27,000 a year
• £32 a month if you earned £30,000 a year

You can make voluntary repayments if you want to pay off your loan more quickly.

You pay interest from the time your first payment is made until you pay your loan back in full.

When Applying

Have the following to hand:
• your Learning and Funding Information Letter
showing your course and college or training
organisation’s details
• your National Insurance Number
• your valid UK passport details (if you
have one)
