About the course

The aim of the Digital Marketer apprenticeship is to develop apprentices into well rounded digital marketing professionals. This involves elements of knowledge and technical competency towards the aims and objectives of the qualification stipulated by the British Computer Society (BCS).

The qualification will expose learners to several digital marketing channels and skills, including email, social media, coding and copywriting. It also introduces platforms such as HubSpot and Google Analytics, as well as the principles of marketing and strategy.

Hands on, work based learning will result in a well-rounded marketing professional, capable of setting up and running end to end marketing campaigns, both autonomously and as part of a team in their place of employment.

Entry Requirements

GCSE or equivalent at grade C/4 and above in English

Initial Assessments in Maths and English

Level 1 candidates will be expected to achieve Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English by the end of the apprenticeship

Course Duration

15-18 months (commencement of the end point assessment and professional portfolio after 15 months).

What skills will learners gain?

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, learners will gain a good understanding of:

  • Core marketing principles including the Marketing Mix, Product Lifecyle and Customer Lifecycle
  • Target markets research and segmentation
  • Planning and implement digital marketing strategies and briefs
  • Basic understanding of coding and logic
  • Google Analytics IQ qualification
  • Certifications in Content Marketing, Inbound Marketing, Email Marketing and Social Media Marketing through Hubspot.

 

Career opportunities and progression

A majority of junior marketing roles require 1 to 2 years’ experience. The Digital Marketing qualification is designed to fast track hands-on-skills marketing, enabling access to a range of marketing careers. It allows candidates to ‘hit the ground running’ and add value to their employer and department throughout their apprenticeship. The skills learned make our apprentices highly current and valued.

COST

Employers

Discuss with your GB Training contact who will advise. This will vary depending on whether you are a Levy or Non-Levy paying employer.

Levy employers

Your levy pot will be deducted £11,000 in installments over the course of the apprenticeship.  Further support and information is available from a member of our team.

Non-levy employers

If you are a company/SME whose payroll falls under £3Million per annum, you will be expected to contribute 5% towards training.

Apprenticeships are for businesses large and small and are supported with bonuses for companies.

Firms will receive £2,000 for each apprentice they take on and £1,500 for those apprentices over 25 years old.

When employers take on a 16-18-year-old on an apprenticeship, they will receive £1,000 to help meet the extra costs associated with this.

Estimated overall value of apprenticeship – approx. £11,000

Learner cost –  n/a cost covered. You will also be paid an hourly wage.
