The Government’s ‘Plan for Jobs’ incentive, which aims to support employers during the Covid-19 economic recovery is now available, commencing from 1 August 2020 and running to 31 January 2021.

It is accessible for any employer. Those hiring a new young apprentice aged 16-24 are eligible to receive £2,000, while those hiring apprentices aged 25 years and over are eligible to receive £1500. The grants are in addition to the existing £1,000 incentive the Government already provides for new 16 to 18 year-old apprentices.

There is no limit on the number of grants one business can receive, however, there are conditions. These including age, start dates and rules around the apprentice being new to the business.
